Throughout the 2013-2014 season of Arctic Entries, proceeds will be donated to the Alaska Literacy Program (ALP). Started in 1974, ALP is a volunteer-based non-profit that provides basic literacy instruction to adults in the Anchorage area. The program recruits, trains, certifies, and supports volunteer teachers and tutors who work one-on-one or in a classroom setting teaching reading, writing and speaking English to over 1000 adults a year. They also support seven classrooms and one computer lab in town.
